Rock

This poem is a rock
which I have placed
in the middle of a stream.
Dense rock
which cannot be
penetrated or dissolved.
Its presence
divides the water
like opinion,
which must reroute
to flow around it,
as it cannot be
split or eroded.
Allowing no enquiry
of its solidity,
its nature casually
refuses dissent,
repelling
the querulous
testing of
restless,
eddying
water.
