If, unlike Arthur S, you think reason comes before biology you will be labouring under the illusion that you can "look down on" (in all senses) the sexual role that mere Biology (remember that Bios means life itself and the life force) allocates to each individual and select rationally what you want to be as if choosing from a wallpaper catalogue. However, if Biology precedes reason in a human person, there is no choosing because "you can do what you want but you can't will what you will (will meaning desire to live and reproduce)." This means that, in the sexual arena, our sexual roles, male and female, are givens subject to our biology and that is something none of us were consulted on. There is gender dysphoria but it is a serious, and sad, departure from the given norm and not an idle "choice.
