The Obsession with Demographics and the Accidents of Cultural History

What, in fact, is the obsession with demographics that damn you or make you a victim before you've taken your first breath? What is the insistence that you are defined by the cultural history you happened to be born into and obliged to apologise for actions taken by those who preceded you by 10 generations? In truth it is a statement of the lie that we are utterly determined by the accidents of our birth and that there is no such thing as free will and personal freedom or responsibility.
