Priced in Early or Panglossian?

It seems to me that we are often unduly pessimistic about society’s ability to correct itself. If our critical faculties are dismayed by what we observe around us and our indignation is aroused we should assume, with a tincture of optimism and on the ‘no man is an island’ principle, that we are not alone in our apprehensions. The fact that we react strongly and have reached the stage of being able to articulate our disapproval is evidence that the yeast of change has already begun to work in a wider sphere.
