The Left Lacks Moral Points de Repère

Lacking any moral points de repère,  the left simply create them. They take conservatives, demonise them and then, surprise, surprise, describe them as demons. For a demon is a moral absolute from which whole moral universes can be triangulated and we all need to be able to navigate the moral universe. This means, in a curious way, that the left *need* the Tories as they perform a vital function for them. The right does not need the left.
