An Unbiassed Mind

The modern thinker steals the dignity
Of choice from his opponents, cheerily
Divesting them of self-determination
By pointing to the rank contamination
They suffer from the newspapers they read.
He styles them helpless swine who do not heed
The influence that forms them. He, though, knows
By what he is determined, claims all those
Nobilities bestowed by free will’s crown.
Enjoys his elevation - putting down
The fools opposing him. Yet how he gains
Such freedom, breaking bias-forging chains
That bind the rest - a mystery I missed.
To cap it all he claims determinist
Credentials, little moved to be at odds
With creeds and principles to which he nods.
