Males and females are always pitched as antagonistic opponents who, for some random and inexplicable reason have found themselves in a competing proximity with each other forgetting that, in a species that reproduces sexually, males and females need and depend on each other entirely. They are, therefore defined by not being in opposition to each other. If they were truly so it would signal the death of the species. We only have the discussion because their proximity is caused by their being different aspects of the same thing.
Historical arrangements regarding domesticity and childcare are now seen as evidence of tyrannies when they may simply have been sensible accommodations for survival agreed by two sides who actually loved each other. If we assume the male/female relation is first of all defined by mutual love then that drives out all these other implied wickednesses and exploitations. Love (by its nature non-exploitative) is so easily forgotten! People forget what male and female mean to each other. It's profound and biological. By our nature we first of all complement and complete each other. This precedes all the in-fighting.
