Fiddling while Rome Burns

Rigorous ‘impartiality on the part of the media equates to fiddling while Rome burns. Partiality is required. The BBC’s terror of not being impartial has not, in effect, resulted in impartiality. Their naked anti-Brexit partiality is obvious. They’ve been partial just in the wrong direction. In his excellent Unherd article  Douglas Murray demolishes supposedly ‘grown-up’ and peace-loving “equidistantism” which, in the interests of impartiality, actually is over-lenient on one side and unjustifiably hostile to the other. The battle is configured so that a clear position must be taken. Boris has his faults but he represents the right side in a binary battle for our civilisation. A victory for Corbyn puts the rubber stamp on the long march and it’s only downhill thereafter.....
